Eyelid entropion is a condition in which the eyelid is rolled inward against the eyeball. It is typically caused by laxity of the eyelid and spasm of the surrounding eyelid muscle or by scarring of the conjunctiva (the inner lining of the eyelid). Entropions often result in irritation of the eye by the lashes (above, arrow). This pleasant gentleman underwent surgical correction of his lower eyelid entropion (below) and experienced relief of his symptoms.
