Many patients choose to travel to Dr. Abboud for his expertise in oculofacial plastic surgery and reputation for natural results. When it comes to your eyelids, there is very little room for error. Choosing a specialist you can trust to deliver a natural look with the highest standards of safety is worth the travel.
To make your experience stress-free, we provide personalized guidance from your first consultation to your final follow-up.

Our concierge approach includes:

Virtual post-operative follow-up visits for your convenience
How Long Should You Stay in San Diego?

-
Before surgery: Most patients arrive 1–2 days prior to surgery for an in-person exam and pre-operative visit.

-
After surgery: You should plan to stay in San Diego for 7–10 days. Sutures are typically removed at 1 week, and Dr. Abboud prefers to personally examine you before you return home.

-
Flying restrictions: To reduce swelling and minimize the risk of complications, please avoid air travel for at least 48 hours after surgery. You must be back in San Diego for your one-week postoperative visit before resuming further travel. Depending on your procedure, additional restrictions may apply.
Virtual Post-Operative Follow-Ups
After your in-person check at one week, many follow-up visits can be conducted virtually. This allows Dr. Abboud to monitor your healing and answer your questions while minimizing the need for additional travel.

Preparing for Your Visit
-
Travel Companion: We strongly recommend bringing a friend or family member to assist you after surgery, especially for the first 24–48 hours.

-
Transportation: Arrange for pick-up after surgery (ride-share services are not permitted immediately after anesthesia).

-
Recovery Comfort: Choose a quiet, comfortable space to relax during your stay with easy access to healthy meals.

-
Medication & Aftercare: We provide prescriptions and detailed aftercare instructions before your surgery day so you can prepare in advance.

Why Patients Travel to Dr. Abboud
Choosing a surgeon for your face is one of the most important decisions you can make. Unlike other areas of the body, the eyes and face leave little room for error. A natural outcome requires not only surgical precision but also an artistic understanding of balance, proportion, and harmony.
Patients from across the United States and abroad travel to see Dr. Abboud because of his:

-
Specialized Expertise – Fellowship-trained in oculofacial plastic surgery, focusing exclusively on the delicate structures of the eyelids, brows, and face.
-
Reputation for Natural Results – Known for subtle enhancements that restore a refreshed appearance without looking “overdone.”
-
Commitment to Safety – Procedures are performed in a Quad-A accredited surgical facility, with meticulous attention to patient care and risk reduction.
-
Concierge-Level Care – From virtual consultations to personalized recovery planning, our team ensures every step of the process is seamless, even for those flying in.
-
Trust and Integrity – If Dr. Abboud does not believe a treatment will benefit you, he will not recommend it. His philosophy has always been: your wellbeing first, not just the procedure.

For many of our patients, traveling to San Diego is a small investment compared to the peace of mind that comes with knowing they are in the hands of a specialist dedicated to artistry, safety, and natural results.
